MLR Rebate Payout Reports: Broker Notifications This Week
July 13, 2012
Brokers will be able to access customer-specific Medical Loss Ratio (MLR) rebate payout reports in their accounts on United eServices® or the Oxford websites this week. Brokers with River Valley and PacifiCare accounts will be receiving their reports via mail. Please check your message center or mail to determine if you have customers receiving a rebate. If so, a list of rebate dollars by customer will be posted for your account or included in your letter.
- Group policyholders are receiving checks for these rebates over the next few weeks. The policyholder will be notified first and then 3-5 days later, the employees will be notified. All checks must be distributed by Aug. 1, 2012. Policyholders receiving rebate checks will find information with the check regarding how to locate information on how the rebate may be used for the benefit of their subscribers.
- In addition, notifications to policyholders and their subscribers who are not eligible to receive a rebate began mailing the week of July 9. The employer/policyholder will be notified first, then their employees 3-5 days later.
The payout represents less than 1% of the total annual premium collected by UnitedHealthcare in 2011.
