Specialty Benefits Webinar Emphasizes Voluntary Strategies
June 25, 2012
Join us Aug. 1, 2012 for the United Advantage® Webinar on Specialty Benefits. The session will cover the Bridge2Health strategy and voluntary benefits segment.
We’re committed to maximize integration differentiation and gain voluntary market share in Specialty Benefits. By using data integration through our Bridge2Health strategy, we’re able to use the power of Better Information and innovative thinking to help employers, health care professionals and individuals make Better Decisions, ultimately resulting in Better Health.
- Dental - Our claims data shows that on average, members with chronic illness who receive dental care have annual medical claims that are approximately $2,000 less than those who do not.1
- Vision - For members with chronic health conditions, our reminder phone calls have been shown to improve vision exam adherence to 50% versus 3% through a typical postcard program.2
- Disability - Through early intervention and the ability to provide medical, disability and behavioral case management, coordinated by a single case manager, our research has shown that we have reduced the duration of disability claims by more than 13%.3
- Critical Illness - By integrating our Critical Illness Protection Plan (CIPP) with UnitedHealthcare Medical coverage, our members who are enrolled in the CIPP automatically get coordinated outreach and support, putting the focus on recovery, not just receiving a benefit check.
UnitedHealthcare also remains focused on expanding our position in the voluntary benefits segment and bringing innovative solutions to the marketplace. In July 2011, a new Critical Illness product launched. Today, this offering is available in 44 states and is being received as a key solution for employers and their members, particularly when paired with a UnitedHealthcare Consumer Driven Health Plan option. In July an Accident product will be introduced to the marketplace to complement our already robust product portfolio.
